I was excited to read this book - I love thrillers and this comes with a soundtrack! Awesome… except it’s not.
To be honest, I didn’t finish it despite trying several times to… After the first chapter I knew it wasn’t for me, but tried to persevere. The characters are one dimensional and immature - I honestly had to google to see if the book was for adults as it is written in a very adolescent way; I thought it might be a gore-fest aimed at teens.
The gore etc itself was ok, nothing that chilling or bizarre. Maybe shocking you haven’t read anything like it? None of it was really written with great description or to invoke any feeling. The “banter” was obvious and really cringe-worthy.
All in all, bland, basic and boring.
If I’m going to read teenage style horror / thriller I’ll dig out some old Point Horror / Point Crime.
