From taking a supposedly "23" year old girl who looks and acts like an innocent child into an active conflict, to a car of journalists driving around "no mans land", tagging along with any rebellion squad in the middle of firefights, this movie never fails to surprise me on how stupid plots can get in this new era of film.
Little details such as rebellion squads trying to surprise a wounded soldier, by ordering silence, and yet still turning on and shining around their torches everywhere, giving away their location, ruin the emersion. Or the fact that you can still clearly see actors breathing after they have supposedly been shot in the head. What about how in the sky you can see little missile airstrikes back and forth, yet supposedly, only one side has the military??
World building was also clearly lacking, with nothing feeling like a genuine "United States Civil War" -- it just felt like a bunch of looney press trying to fill up an SD card full of photos for their sick little collection. None of it made sense, very little of it actually captured the reality of war, PTSD, etc.
Would not recommend spending any money to see it, but if it's on your streaming platform, give it a watch to see just what I mean.
