Shame on you, Harriet. Haven't you sucked enough blood money from the Wheel of Time?
This slim volume is biography, literary criticism, history, and comparative mythology all in 234 pages of large font! As you may expect from such an absurd attempt by the author, the whole collapses to nothing.
Most of this volume is sourced from materials that serious Jordan fans have known for years and have been available to fans for years. What's new here besides a very questionable explanation of Nakomi? It seems clear to this reader Rand - as he hummed the lost Tinker song and made the green things grow - was the foil of of the hand of the dark. Nakomi's almost accidental role in AMoL doesn't add up to what we're told.
There's so much missing, too. You could read this book, which I don't recommend, and think Jordan wasn't intimately in touch with Robert Heinlein and David Eddings. Let's be clear: Nynaeve al'Meara is a cross of Polgara the Sorceress and Jubal Harshaw. The author seems totally oblivious to this.
Heinlein is, in fact, present throughout the Wheel of Time. There can be no talk of Robert Jordan's writing without Robert Heinlein.
This book fails at just about every level. Save your money.
