7500 is a nail-biting drama/thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. I think it will go down in history as a piece of art due to both its containment and the human drama contained within. Artful, powerful, moving.

The exotic backdrop that is designed to be full of timeless truth provides an evocative look at imperialism and the resilience of those who stand firm in peace and optimism. There's a telling quote from the movie about the belief that the imperialists will up and leave and that the Barbarians will remain indefinitely. Its irony rings true in the conclusion of the film. Depp delivers an amazing performance of rigidity and horror. His gentle counterpart, endearing. This is not an action-packed film. But it is a curious drama that offers soulful reflection within its frames.
