Never expected to relate to this show and have it affect me in the way it has. I watched it about two days ago thinking it was just about a stalker then I finished it in a few hours at 3:00 AM, sobbing. I won’t spoil the show, but the real message that is shown here is so powerful and it really made me feel like there are other people out there who understand the pain. Richard Gadd brought such a raw, emotional, disturbing, beautiful, and intense story—sharing his life in such a vulnerable way. The first episode reels you right into the complexity of Gadd’s situation and there isn’t a moment in the show where I felt like it could have been better made. After watching I also discovered that the creators of The End of The Fxxxing World, which is my favorite show, also worked on this show too. It makes sense given the BEAUTFIUL cinematography, nostalgic vibe and humor they brought to the table, as well as Gadd. I almost didn’t watch the show, thank god I made the decision to try, it inspired me to come out about my own experiences and made me feel less alone. It’s truly perfect, wouldn’t have asked for a better show. If you haven’t watched, you absolutely should, even if you can’t relate, it’s an important story to hear.
