My husband and I love this show. The casting is perfect. Heavy hitters all the way around. The ditsy girls make me wanna shout at the TV but only because I'm so engrossed in their cluelessness and appalled at the fact that these characters represent real people. Its great. All the other characters are so believable that I get lost in the show. Only complaint: BBT's hair shouldn't be so blond. It looks unnatural and is distracting.

It's history re-imagined. Do not come to this movie thinking you'll see strict reality. There are sections with rap music underlying a scene. There are sections that go warp speed through a portion of his life. The costumes, the makeup, the music are all exaggerations to prove a point, without apology. If you get that, you'll enjoy it. If you're looking fir a historical peek behind the curtain, this is not that.

For as much as Ethan Hawke likely got paid to do this film, he could have learned to play some trumpet. Cringy to watch him poorly finger, and not blow his horn. The movie us good but geez, his trumpet playing is central.

I'm quickly sucked in to the characters and storyline, but I can't get past the cheezy unoriginal medical procedures like trachiodomies or shouting STAT every time something needs to be done quickly. It's like watching ER or Chicago Hope all over again. I wish they'd treat their audience as more intelligent.

Biggest negatives: over-acted and the accents are horrible, make it difficult to understand dialog sometimes. But the story, however hokey, is a safe, feel-good comedy. A good escape.

Has the feel of a Hallmark Channel drama but better quality, not quite as cheesy and a little better acted. Pretty clean show. I highly recommend.

Vikings and Monty Python had a baby and named it Norseman. Funny, funny stuff.
