I realize the show is based on a novel but a friend of mine commented after watching the show that she didn’t “believe that real people live like that” referring to the way the matriarch in the family turns to God when confronted with life's troubles. It was an opportunity for me to illustrate real life examples from my personal experience of Gods grace in times of trouble or when we choose to seek Him first during the decision making process as illustrated in the show. As a human being, I have choices and I live with the consequence of those choices, this show captures that human experience exquisitely and helps initiate helpful dialogue about difficult topics and life choices. Waiting on and looking to God for wisdom has helped me make more loving choice's towards myself and others. In my personal experience, the power of faith is comforting and miraculously preserving when I am experiencing life's most challenging difficulties; I have never regretted looking to or waiting on God through Christ Jesus, prayer and biblical study. -I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble, but take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
