Though heartwarming to see Kolkata streets at night and the bonding with people from different strata, it is outright racist on so many different levels. It is also promoting toxic hatred amongst different religions.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui slaps his wife and neither of the family do anything to support the girl. Instead they want her to get back to him happily. Very wrong message sent through the movie. Also there is so much body shaming in the movie, like women have to be slim and beautiful to be liked by men, fat women would be butt of all jokes. These things used to work in movies of older days. Coming off age movies should take responsibility of propagating such ideas. That's why these days movies starred by Ayushmann Khurrana or Tapsee Pannu are getting more popular.. they are socially progressive and shows people that they should move out of such narrow mindedness. However Nawazuddin Siddiqui was against accepting any dowry which was a good point they upheld.
