I think this story has a lot of potential to go further. I would love to see a prequel with Mr. Bowditch as a young man. I'm very curious to see how he navigated the hazards in Empess. This review is only 4 stars because the book left me wanting so much more at the end. This book could have easily been a thousand more pages at least! Hoping for another book or two.
