Huge Stephen King fan so I was happy to see his work come to life on the big screen and actually done really well. Also loved his cameo! Although I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the first as I found the kid actors more entertaining and witty, I still felt it was well done and didn't feel like I sat through a three hour movie. Wish more directors would do right by King.

The movie has potential but falls short despite being filled with some pretty big names. The animation looks cheap, the storyline is rushed, none of the characters have that likeability factor, and the songs, although catchy, are forgettable. The music is OK and they're sung well but the lyrics are poorly written. Total cheese. My daughter's and my favorite character is the Oracle (Sia) and she was a cannibal tree person if that says anything. My kids 2, 5, and 9 liked it and none were scared of the tree people or the hangman scene. I think it all depends on your child so use your best judgement.

Being such a huge King fan, I put off watching It because many of his book to movie remakes aren't well done. Well, I wish I hadn't waited. It was extremely well done. The cinematography was excellent, the characters were well rounded, funny, and relatable, and the pace was perfect. The child actors were better than the adults in my opinion. I never was bored but instead on the edge of my seat throughout the whole movie. The only part that bothered me was when Georgie died. Prekids this probably wouldn't have bothered me as much but knowing it was coming, I had to close my eyes. Just couldn't watch how Pennywise took him. Otherwise I was able to sit through the rest. Anyone wanting to remake a Stephen King book in the future should take notes. This is how it's done.
