"The moment you said you loved me, your love is over. The moment your love ends my love begins."
I think i wont feel the same for the next 3 days. I was really shocked with how moving and touching this movie is. I can’t remember the last time i remained this silent while watching something, not uttering a single word or even moving from my place. My expressions were in a constant turnover, sometimes smiling and sometimes full of tears. The moment i sat down to watch this, i never thought that a mystery/drama movie would leave me this bewildered and nonplussed. I am just….speechless.
On the technical aspect, this was top class. Park Chan-wook is a true mastermind a pure genius who never disappoint. Every time i watch any of his work, i grow more and more attached to the way he directs and narrates the story. The camera angles and shots were perfect with some mesmerizing music in the background. Eventhough, this movie is very heartwarming and deep, i still believe that it holds a more vivid and a much deeper meaning that I haven’t yet discovered. I am convinced that this film holds some of the most emotionally uplifting quotes ever.
However, i think what stands out the most was how film managed to portray a smart, independent, gifted, ingenious and courageous female character without making it feel like a woman empowerment/feminist movie. While Hollywood is busy making such kind of movies, this film comes in to prove that many women are naturally gifted and equally accomplished without forcing it on the viewer.
"Throw it into the deep sea, don’t let anyone find it."
What an ending! This was, in my opinion, one of the most emotionally touching endings I’ve ever seen. Absolutely brilliant.
Can’t wait to rewatch this to discover even more small meaningful details scattered here and there cause one watch is simply not enough!
