Most excellent Maigret portrayal by Rowan Atkinson. Good casting plus period scenery and costuming are perfect (as usual With BBC). Scripts require great leaps of imagination to progress through each episode. It's as though the director was afraid that too little action and too much Maigret deliberation would be an audience turn off. Maybe so. I suspect it's more a case of too much script and too little time. That happens when a screen screen play collides with production time limits and all the subtle nuance ends up on the cutting room floor.
However, all in all they are very enjoyable presentations.
