Naming the series "Alien Earth" feels like a bait and switch. Much like Prometheus and Covenant, this series shifts focus from Xenomorphs to Synthetic Life. This story should have been a Bladerunner show instead of Aliens.
Misnomer aside, the script falls short of meeting the potential of the story concept. The writers open up too many threads and fail to explore any of them in a satisfying way, and shoehorning the Alien elements further disjoints the narrative. The story is predictable with plot armor protagonists and an antagonist who's the same cliche young billionaire jerk seen in countless movies (Glass Onion, Superman v Batman, Venom).
I find it challenging to rest the second half of the season, and I doubt I'll have any interest in a 2nd season (if there will even be one).
