Structurally, it was a fun and easy read. I enjoyed the flashbacks and tabloids as a way to carry the story. I was much more intrigued by Evelyn’s POV than I ever was Monique’s. Maybe it’s because I have such a strong distaste for present tense POV, and everything from Evelyn was past tense. If you’re not one for a strong undercurrent in of feminism and LGBTQ narrative, this one isn’t for you. Overall, I was pretty underwhelmed with the book as a whole. The only character I ever felt attached to was Evelyn’s best friend, Harry Cameron. Everyone else gave me too many eye rolls.
