There are so many things about this movie that are bad but I don't have the time to write them all out, so I'm just gonna list a few of them. Before you read, this is from the point of view of someone who has read all of the books, just to let you know. So first of all the characters weren't very well casted. The actors don't match how the characters were described in the books at all. Like for instance both Agatha and Anadil are so pale they are practically white. I'm not saying that its a bad thing the movie had black characters, I love that it had black representation, but for many of the characters it just didn't make any sense. Agatha being black, while it doesn't match the books at all, is something that I actually think was pretty cool to add. But Anadil is the literal daughter of the WHITE Witch, her being black goes against a main part of her character. Second they took out so many important characters, like Castor and Pollux, who are a two headed dog in which each head teaches at one of the schools. They were big parts of the first book and them not being in the movie really took away from it. Another character they completely removed was professor Sader, who was like the entire reason that they defeated the school master in the first book and was the main reason behind the main story line of the second. Thirdly, and in my opinion one of the worst things they did, Anadil didn't have her rats! I tried to write this without spoiling to much but I just cannot let this go. In the books every student has a special talent, for instance Dot can turn things into chocolate and Hester has a tatoo that can come off her back in the form of a real demon. Anadil, in the books, had three rats that were practically like her children. Her special talent was that she could make said rats grow and shrink. And in the movie the completely ignored the rats and gave her stupid telekinesis! The relationship that Anadil had with her rats was like one of my favorite things ever, and I was extremely upset when it wasn't in the movie. All in all the movie was just really bad, as these were only a few of the things that I hate about it. It was rushed, left out important events and characters, and just low quality in general. If you want an actually entertaining story then I would suggest you go read the books, they are far better and actually make sense.
