DON'T BELIEVE THE CRITICS - I saw this at the cinema on Friday after hearing and reading all of the extremely negative reviews (a zero star by one critic - really?!) and can truly say that I fail to understand why. Has Tom Hooper upset someone?! I thoroughly enjoyed this version - it was beautifully and imaginatively shot with excellent performances throughout. Remember, it is based on a (small) work of whimsical fiction and accept it for what it is. I saw the old stage version on Sky Arts recently and much prefer this richer, deeper and more interesting production. Will certainly see it again and recommend you see it and judge for yourself. As for the critics - shame on you! Maybe they all had the same brief to tear it to shreds with their claws!
