I was never that enamoured with the tv series, Luther, finding it to be both gratuitous and voyeuristic and masquerading as 'dark drama'. This film did nothing to change my view. It has a poor and ludicrous plot, making very little sense with egregious violence thrown in to satisfy its audience and wasting the talents of both Idris Elba and Andy Serkis. I found it all rather offensive and in the end I did what I rarely do; I walked away before the end.
