The graphics are beautiful but the storyline is aweful. The characters don't act like themselves at all.
The game forces you to try and care for new protagonists, humanising them while dehumanising the 2 best characters of the game and removing that bond that make Part 1 so special. That was a failure. The new protagonists (Abby and Lev) don't cling to our hearts the way Joel and Ellie did.
The violence is numbing and the "subverting your expectations" trope is unnecessary. It's like shooting the fans of the TLOU in the heart and saying, "You feel that, it's because I wanted you too. Clap for me now; I'm a great writer". It fails horribly. Joel who trusts nobody easily gives up his name as if he has no sense of caution or awareness. Abby kills Joel 5 mins after being saved by him without any remorse. Failure at shock value. Ellie kills countless people even a pregnant woman but fails to get justice for her father. It's an uneven story line and it tries too hard to show it's edgy and different from TLOU 1.
To top it off, the character who spits on Joel's dead body (unnecessary btw) looks exactly like Neil Druckmann. It's like a F**CK YOU to the fans. Thanks for that Neil.
The game doesn't deserve any of the 10/10 ratings as it fails to make the fans happy and doesn't even give hope for a Part 3. Just a violent game that doesn't make all the violence worth it in the end.
Finally, no I don't hate it for having gay or trans characters. It's the hypocrisy of Sony saying it doesn't want to sexualise women but the game forces a graphic unwanted disgusting (anal?) sex scene with full frontal. It's unnecessary and scarring.
Thanks for the horrible experience Neil.
