I actually have a lot to complain about such as the change of everything, by everything I meant everything because nothing stays the same. Adaptation are sure to change some things but its my first time seeing an adaptation changing everything.
Such changes are the plot (Kim Dokja hating the novel ending where only Yoo Joonghyuk survives when his goal is literally to keep him alive. Even removing foreshadowing that will cause a big impact in the future such as making Kim Dokja take care of his mother instead of her being in jail) the characters (completely watering down Kim Dokja's morally grey personality into a savior so it will be easier to consume. The removal of the implication of Heewon being sa'd, making it the reason why she became a symbol of justice.) and even the message of the story that is hard to find in a lot of story (the concept i really love the most is how the whole novel is a metaphor for escapism) but is suddenly changed into a cliché hero saved the world, but thats alright of course since thats what is selling nowadays right? Its only fair for them to care about money more than the fans because capitalism has been trending for years!
The only problem I am gonna point out-- despite having a list of problems-- is the mischaracterization of Sangah as she is my favorite. Should have renamed it "Limited Misogynist's Viewpoint" if you all are going to make Sangah a healer (because y'all can't handle the idea of a woman being soft and kind and having agency yet strong at the same time) and called her a stepping stone in one of the interview. She didn't suffer misogyny just for you all to rewrite her character because y'all are misogynist btw. She was put in the very same mold she is supposed to break free of.
I still dont understand why people chose to continue to support this movie, especially the women, all because their favs are in it when they are already paid. This movie is clearly removing and stripping down women's character, not only Sangah but Heewon and Lee Sookyoung too, so if it's really heartbreaking to see a fellow woman supporting a movie that makes women only exists to please the people that would get mad at how the women in the original points out misogyny.
