I gave this sequel a second chance and watched it again last night. But it still leaves me with this obsessively disappointed feeling. There was so much potential here, but the writing and story was just not good. It goes in too many pointless directions and the new main characters are extremely undeveloped. Worst of all, it misrepresents the 3 witches, playing the audience to have sympathy for child murderers. People who loved the first movie liked their attitudes and schtick, but fully understood they were evil. I found how the writer Jen D'angelo is totally sticking her head in the sand pretending everybody loved it. She said she's a fan of the original but it's apparent she didn't see it for what it was. I thought maybe someone could re-edit the movie to do it justice. I searched and searched for fan-made fixes. There are a bunch of changed storylines out there that maybe could be brought to life. I also read that the same writer is working on Hocus Pocus 3. I'm very disappointed a team of willfully ignorant Hollywood fakers have taken this franchise and twisted it into this mess.
