Incredible. I’ve never written a review before but I just had to for this absolute gem of a show. First off, I want to say that I put off watching this show because I was worried it wouldn’t live up to the original comic, but boy was I wrong. After binge-watching this show in one sitting and crying nearly every episode, I can safely say that it most definitely lived up to my expectations. Nick and Charlie’s chemistry made me smile so much that my cheeks hurt by the end of each episode. You could physically see their emotions for each other on their faces it was so delightful and heartwarming to watch. As someone who’s queer themselves and never really grew up with representation in mainstream media, this show really touched me and healed a part of me. From dealing with uncertainty, to insecurity, to bullying, to coming out; this show touched on all bases on what it’s like to be queer as someone who’s only just discovering themselves. In addition, I loved to see the inclusivity of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and (possibly) aro/ace rep! I can gush on and on about this joy of a series but I recommend that you try it for yourself.
