The Legend of the Five is a cinematic masterpiece. It masterfully combines a Jim Henson - esque Fantasy with a coming of age film. The actors made some bold choices in their craft. With the main cast of 20 - 30 year olds made a post modern decision in deciding to play their characters as teenagers. This was a wonderful addition to the outstanding writing and pacing of the film. I personally found there was an opportunity to explore the relationship between the characters of Owen and Javier as they had a lot of chemistry but it didn’t really go anywhere. I would highly recommend this film for anyone with eyes (or ears) as it fully changed my life with its deep and meaningful messages of leaving the past behind and becoming the best version of one’s self.
