Your reviewer (SMH 23/01/25) seems to have fallen victim to hype from overseas. I endured this bleak and self important movie and regretted wasting four hours of my life. The narrative told an unremarkable story and included all the predictable virtue signals. Several of the audience left during the screening. But my biggest gripe is the disservice it did the profession of architecture. It perpetuated the myth that architects are impractical dreamers. Obviously there was not an architect consulted in the production team as the movie implied that buildings are created with a few strokes of a charcoal stick? A building proposed of the scale and complexity suggested in the movie would require a team of architects to document it and require the services of numerous consultants as well as various authorities and utility suppliers .They would produce a huge number of documents and drawings and would take many years to complete. The design architect would be part of a team that would coordinate all the input. The epilogue showing a retrospective of supposed works were in fact fragments of a modernist buildings and not brutalist. Seeing shots of real architecture in Venice was a welcome relief. The most interest was the title graphics which at least seem to have been inspired by the title blocks on architectural drawings.

I love Kitty but I thought season 3 of Fisk disappointing. Too much going on, and trying too hard and relying on the success of the first two series. Julia actually stole the season. The format seemed tired and out of ideas.

What I found so annoying about this move was its pretentiousness. Trying to be profound but ending up so trite. How can the critics not see through this?

Predictable and cliched! No hint of satire here. A western story played by Asians and a non to subtle travel promotion for a rather dull city. Sorry! Sad to see western values being aspired to by Asia with such vulgarity.

Contrived and convoluted. A simpler premise would have made a more satisfying film
