recap: in every episode, one of these people gets "too close to the case." unlike real people, the cousins, lovers and civic leaders who reared these agents are also bizarrely in need of fbi assistance. CONSTANTLY. lots of cases for the agents to get too close to. on a weekly basis, these heroee lie to and mistrust their partners; defy chain of command; talk behind each other's back, threaten to tell on one another and go over each other's heads to the upper brass because someone is, "too close to the case." now, each time they get too close to the case, they are asked to step aside and agree to do so, only to deliberately re-insert themselves back into the case. and thank god for that because they solved the case. it was reckless they got too close to it; it was stupid and it can't happen again.
