Chandee Yang

This is how you properly do a live action take on an animated film. The live action still captures the imagination of what it is like to fly on a dragon. The film is not an exact 1:1 with small bit that weren't important cut out, but it still holds true to the original animated film. Mason Thames and Nico Parker did a fantastic job of portraying Hiccup and Astrid. Other reviews stated that the pair was slightly awkward but I did not see any of that. And It was superb to see Gerard Butler as Stoick the Vast in live action. No one can be Stoick but Gerard. The live action brings back nostalgic feelings of an old friend.
