Highly engaging plot with lots of, but not too many, twists and turns, and a variety of characters that are brought to life. I love his descriptions of the countryside and weather except when he overdoes his similes, as Krystal Depp alluded to below, which he does rather too often. It’s a shame, as the descriptions are more than sufficient. I’ll read the other 2 books in the trilogy because, overall, I really enjoyed this book and looked forward to finding out what happened next - which, I guess, is what differentiates a book worth reading from one that isn’t. Thanks Peter!
