This was a great little find on Netflix. Brilliant acting with an ‘off-edge’ and almost eerie feel and direction. This is a marmite film for sure, there will be some who find it a chore, but their loss I say. I so often know where a film or tv show will go, even the shock twists have become predictable. But not with The Nest. I was never quite sure which direction it would spin off in, or what genre it would end up settling into. That’s ok and part of keeping us drawn in. Coon gave a stunning and subtle performance. The final scene was beautifully honest, gracious, tender and cathartic. There was a glint of hope at the end. I feel to appreciate this film, maybe one has had to lived life a little, known their own ups and downs and experienced their own grief.
