Seldom do I find myself loving every track on any given album release, it is also important to note that as I get older, I tend not to hate or dislike any music. However, every now and then an album will drop that I feel is perfect in all ways and depicts an honest representation of the artists craft and ideas. Temples, Exotico is such a vibe, I honestly get lost in it and will get from side A to the end of side B without jumping around skipping tracks because I feel as though this album is perfect. The ideas behind the lyrics, the melodies both sang and played with high timber instruments like ripping guitar lead tones or mellotron and other lead synth sounds, (more than likely coming from an ARP2600) the ethereal harmonies while you’re hit with that Fridman style delay turned up to max so it feeds back and creates my favorite feeling almost like a tension and release sensory overload. The drum sound is massive and the parts are so perfectly orchestrated and not overplayed, they have a serious “less is more” stylistic sophistication that is best described as ”total precision”. Sean Lennon and Temples should be celebrated and given high praise for blessing us with this wonderful, goosebump raising, chills inducing musical gift. Can you feel it coming down? Let me get my head out of the clouds…. Give this album a listen. 10/10
