Having now watched this beautiful and intelligent film twice I can easily say it is one of the best I have seen in ages. The acting is gorgeous- an almost completely improvised script with Honor Swinton Byrne not always made aware of the events to come - and it is a wonderful presentation of her story. It is a complex film, but not a complex story...it is a love story as much as a 'learning about life' story. Some fabulous music from the 80s crops up, as do some great clothes.The story and characters are semi autobiographical...the ultimate ending is predictable but none the less tragic.
