I play it as a party game with my friends. The more I tried to lock in and learn the more it felt like a job, because of the mechanics stacked on top of more mechanics. Stances, cancellable heat starter, heat engager moves, heat smash, heat dash, new moves in heat, heat frame changes, stage explosions, floor breaks, wall breaks, too many 50/50s, hard to read grab breaks, tracking grabs in heat, chip damage, + frames on block, characters all having 130+ moves, delayable moves, hyper armor moves. Getting launched when side stepping/walking or even behind the opp. Tracking is weird. Season 2 changes made me realise I don't want to take the extensive time to learn this game to a competitive depth. Each dlc character is another 130+ plus moves with heat changes you have to pay for to even learn from a defensive perspective. Now I just mash with friends occasionally because we own the game. I'd recommend other fighting games if you play casually and/or competitively. If you're a Tekken loyalist or like insanely complex games in an already niche category. This game is likely for you! Otherwise you can learn multiple games and get to playing in the time you'll learn 80% of 2 characters in Tekken.
