I'm watching Megalopolis. It's an indecipherable train wreck of a film. It's abstract for the sake of being abstract. I don't get the plot. I don't get the characters. I don't get the point of the film. And, I don't think that I'm meant to feel stupid for feeling that way.
It's like a grifter went into Hollywood and managed to convince the studio to spend $100 million on a film, to get back at someone they didn't like.
It literally is a collection of pointless plots merged into a film and we spend two hours trying to figure out what the plots are and what they mean. Then the credits roll and realise they don't mean anything.
I'm not sure what the actors must have thought they were doing, but what's been outputted is totally pretentious spew and when they've seen themselves on screen, regretted ever agreeing to joining the cast.
1/5. I'm giving it a 1 star, just because it is a film and has a start sequence, a long middle and some credits.
