One of my uncles bought me this book when I was a kid. I loved it so much me and my best friend in 4th grade at the time would make up our own stories of the Proxima War and tell them to anyone who would listen. To one group of teens who would drink in the park I was known as "Alpha Centurion". (I didn't know how to pronounce "Centauri" then.) That tells you just how immersive the art and storytelling in this book was, and being written in such a style it really felt like some history book from the future was in my hands. The art by a number of skilled painters really brought it all together. I still have my first edition copy, and spacewreck as well. They will go to my grave with me if I can help it.
