I would not even award that 1 star, if possible!
I'm not going to comment on the cinematography or the writing or the dialogues coz I'm not an expert on the technicalities of film making. But as an avid fan of romantic movies, I'd like to say that this movie was opposite of romance.
Chris Evans, why on earth did you agree for this movie???? You do not need it? You are Captain America! Period. You don't need to justify your stardom by choosing bullshit roles!
Dakota Johnson, please learn how to act! You portrayed Ana Steele in the first fifty shades so well and since after that movie, you have been pooping in all your roles as if someone paid you to be a bad actress!!
Pedro Pascal, again, the same thing, you do not need to justify your stardom by accepting mediocre roles!! You are already classy!
Adore is a matchmaking company in new York city that does not warn the clients and employees of the risks of assault or misbehaviour?? There should be agreements and safety policies if clients are paying the company. That should not have been an issue for Lucy! Vi must have warned her of these things! So, a useless and inauthentic plot line.
Lucy calls herself materialistic, money minded etc, gets an opportunity to marry the rich harry and rejects him. Tries to use her poor ex as a rebound, gets back with him, knowing that he is still poor and cannot support her rich expectations, decides to quit her stable job, with possibility of promotion and MARRY John????? Why is this character so self defying?? When you are in your 30s, you have seen a lot being poor, then why are you not living for yourself?? If you are so capable of "doing the math" then you should have married harry! But then how would the story end? Even if you are money minded and materialistic and want love to be on the table too, then marry your ex lover, do the job that you know you are best at and support both of you!! Ask your ex to move out of his shitty apartment with shitty roommates and take responsibility!
Double standards!
In my opinion, this movie portrays women to be stupid and shallow which is not the always the case.
This movie could have been better but alas......another disappointment!
