I don’t usually post reviews because they’re pointless. Everyone who wants to play COD will buy this game. I’m posting this to vent. I want to start off by saying that I like these games. Even some of the more mediocre to bad COD games I’ve found myself enjoying aspects of. Unfortunately I cannot say the same of Vanguard. Everything about this game feels like it was either half baked or they didn’t have time to finish polishing it up. TTK feels inconsistent, the campaign is a nonsensical mess, the controls feels awkward and fiddly. It’s ugly. There’s lag spikes in multiplayer. The guns sound awful and feel worse. The maps are ugly and filled with awkward angles, like the concern was having a ton of maps instead of maps that were actually playable. Spawns are impressively terrible, as in spawning the player into groups of 2 or 3 enemies at a time. The perks are insane nonsense as well. There’s a perk that allows body shots to do as much as damage as headshots. But at the same time without the perk it takes almost a whole mag to drop another player but one stray headshot to drop them. Just inconsistent and unpolished across the board. Please do not spend money on this game. It’s beyond disappointing, this might be the worst AAA shooter I’ve ever played.
