The American government will be dragged over the cliff in January, 2025 by people who have become psychotic. There really isn't very much left to do but try and keep one's mouth from falling open at the sight of the banality of human ignorance.

This book outlines what is going on in America with the Conservatives at this time in our history perfectly by pointing to historical antecedents from the 20th century. There evidently is nothing new under the sun, which I found comforting because authoritarianism is a largely self-inflicted wound which democratic societies have overcome in the past, always at tremendous cost.
