I haven't read the books so I don't pretend to be an expert. I know the whole "woke" politics is putting some people off but that aside, this series was literally perfect. The cast, the acting, the set, the plot, the costumes, name it. It was a modern take rooted in present societal issues and I understand this can be disgusting when not done right. I have seen the movie adaptation and can proudly say that the movie's version of Louis was bland. It had no depth, no substance. The series version was a more fleshed-out character with depth, goals, and issues. Then the MVP Lestat, the series adaptation of Lestat was so good. He was charming, seductive, manipulative, and somehow sympathy-inducing. Tom Cruise's portrayal wasn't even half as good. The aging up of Claudia was unexpected but also essential considering the predation going on today. Give it a try before drawing out your conclusion. I can assure you that you wouldn't regret it.
