Excellent plot. After finishing the books, I went back and found so many subtle but genius hints about the entire story. It was hard for me to put the book down. I think that the main idea of the book is, yes, a little bit generic, but there are so many unique features that make the novel a fantastic read. The fantasy world with a huge, mysterious black void cutting through it. Several locations which all hold meaning throughout the series. I also loved everything about the Grisha and their powers, how they worked, and so on. And the love triangle (again, although generic) honestly had me on the edge of my seat. Spectacular novel, I would give anything to read the whole series for the first time again.
