Major gore warning, but that not withstanding, an excellent yarn … Clean storyline, executed perfectly… believable dialogue, and just plain fun!

Having read the other reviews and peoples impression of the story, my perspective is 180°… This is a study on the human spirit… An intelligent man, Colm, an intelligent woman, Padraic’s sister, sequestered on an island - surrounded by simple people w simple ways - Colm is lost in how to right his life, so remains and chooses to deal with his dilemmas the only way he knows how to communicate with the simple thinkers around him… Whereas, the sister busts out for the mainland … to rescue herself… leaving our main character, Paddy, to try to understand it all … The humor is priceless… Clever, timely, appropriate ~ The setting and literally the speed of this is terrific …..Bravo, this is some first-class storytelling!

John K, if you read these, you hit it "outta the park, AGAIN!" The "set up" of the alien invasion was essential, and told the story ( of survival -not giving anything away!) for any #1 non-viewers. Your special effects will be getting an Oscar nom (Done deal.) And more importantly, the familial survival story plays out tightly, lovingly, and "quietly" - bravo! Sequels have gotta be tough, but this brought jump scares, desperation, love, and most of all survival and hope....Tell us you're going for 3 !! Or surprize us !

The movie is not for everyone, although I would recommend it as a "must see"...But you need to pay attention. My conclusion is that people and human nature, over the eras, do not change or learn. There is true/sincere friendship, love, self preservation, scheming, power searching, debauchery all of which make our existence challenging - what do you accept, what do you dismiss ? It's up to you.

Notice immediately the overall modesty and attitude transformation, and you'll "get it" ? It moves through the message smoothly, and holds your interest throughout ....This one will definitely get a nom in January, as will the actors -- excellent work !
