Having read the books in the 1980's AFTER seeing the first film, which I loved, I have found the new Dune film's disappointing. I find Timothee Chalamet unconvincing as Paul Atreides and Rebecca Ferguson almost wooden who plays Lady Jessica. The best character is Zendaya playing Chani but it's not enough to drag this film back from the brink for me.
