It makes me sad that there are so many negative reviews, especially when this was Charlie Day's directional debut. I thought that the writing was really well. It was fun and simple, but not to the point where it is patronizing the audience. The cinematography and overall auteurism of Day was charming as well; sorta Wes Anderson-esque. Obvious allegory/metaphor for the industry, how stardom is created, industry plants, etc. Idk I thought it was fun and the casting was great!
