The US Marine war style with accompanying language and hardware I found lacked innovative motivations….explosions and gunfire cacophony…siblings referring to each other as “bro”. Very American, lacking a sort of timelessness that could place it amongst the Classics. Obviously I didn’t get it at all. Wonderfully imaginative underwater creatures and fauna though I thought the spirit tree with peacock foliage was a kitsch too far.
The music festival aesthetics and costume design could have done with more flair. There’s so much information available on tribal silhouettes, ornament and style that could have been explored-a missed opportunity.
