Call the midwife perfectly captures a time and place ; the east of London primarily in the 60’s. All of the important issues of that period are beautifully portrayed in a realistic way. It is also one of the few shows on television with a cast of characters that are not lessened by their kindness. It is truly heartwarming. Each episode is both unique and part of a continuum, with a brilliant cast that blends with locals and their particular health concerns — usually connected with giving birth. In addition, the clothes, colors etc. evolve perfectly with the seasons. I’m looking forward to season 11 & 12. !
