I really really really wanted to love this after waiting 2 years for it to come out. Parts of it were great, Strike's inner dialogue most of all. The actual investigation of the body in the vault, I thought that was kind of a mess. Too many side subplots, too many people to interview, too all-over-the-place. I couldn't keep it all straight. I found myself reading through those parts quickly so I could get back to the interpersonal stuff with Strike and Robin. And then wouldn't you know it, everything came down to the last couple of pages and you're left hanging, Again, just like at the end of TRG. Talk about disappointing. Is it too soon to ask when the next one is coming out? And if it will be worth waiting for? Sorry JK Rowling. This wasn't one of my favorites in the series.
