I was a loyal The Talk viewer and I must say that I am incredibly disappointed that Sharon Osbourne was set up/put in an impossible situation on the infamous "March 10th" episode. I think Sharon Osbourne had every right to defend her friend Piers Morgan (and by the way I do NOT like Piers AT ALL). Sharon even said that she did not share all of his views, but supported his freedom of speech. It is extremely unfortunate that Sharon was personally attacked/targeted as a racist by her co-hosts which resulted in Sharon becoming defensive and losing control. I blame the show & her co-hosts for the way things went down because Sharon should have been allowed to make her statement regarding Piers Morgan (at the beginning of the show) and then the subject should have been completely dropped period! Sharon even asked her co-hosts to educate her when it comes to racism and made an excellent point about how not liking a person who is a different color does not automatically make you a racist, but rather that you just might not like that person for a variety of other reasons not related to their race. I think that when Sharon told Sheryl not to cry she was not at her best given the stressful, unfair situation she was placed in. I feel bad for Sharon because some people may falsely believe/assume that she is racist which could really ruin her reputation which is not fair/accurate at all. I have never once heard Sharon say anything even close to being racist on the show so why did Sheryl and Elaine feel the need to make that assumption and ambush/judge her? I believe that once the new host Elaine Welteroth started on the show the direction has changed drastically with a negative, and more political focus. Carrie Ann was really upset, frustrated and felt personally challenged/attacked by Elaine and Sheryl, on a previous episode, with the racial/political topics which made her cry and feel awful about herself. The hosts should feel free to share their opinions, but not monopolize the conversation or act superior in any way. I really miss the show pre-Elaine when they concentrated on pop culture, contemporary issues and family!!! I used to enjoy Sheryl Underwood on the show, but now she is acting very self righteous, arrogant and unfair to Sharon and anyone else who does not share her viewpoints. We need to be extremely careful NOT to make everything so PC and to NOT analyze every word & action that a person makes and NOT be quick to assume that someone is/their actions are racist. As Aisha Tyler (former host) so fabulously said many times "Do not call something racist unless it truly is". We need to preserve our freedom of speech, but yet still be kind, respectful & fair to everyone regardless of the color of their skin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, and etc. . . Please stop with all of the racial/political topics and terms on The Talk and return to a happy, lighter atmosphere and enlightening show that people desperately need today!!!! Good luck to you Sharon on your future endeavors; I wish you tremendous success - I will miss you!!!
