Itโs really a shame that this series was cancelled at the whim of the head honchos at the network. Even though, at the time, it was the second highest rated series in the country! What a shame! It really needed another year or two to culminate Jack and Sueโs lovely relationship. There were a lot of themes which were depictedโฆ.compassion, a deaf person learning to survive in a hearing world, how to deal with problematic people and situations in a civilized way without physical altercations, Christianity, trust and friendships, among others. It was a series you wouldnโt be uncomfortable watching with your children. Wouldnโt it be great if they did a couple of follow-up movies, like on the Hallmark channel, and bring back the entire cast, 20 years later! Hallmark channel: are you listening?? I know all the actors have gone in different directions, but wouldnโt it be fantastic?! There is an appetite for this series! It is a โpureโ series with its tremendous moral lessons. Again, itโs almost criminal that this was cancelled! All actors were outstanding! I bought several of the complete series through Amazon and will give to my nieces who want to learn ASL. One series Iโm saving for myself! Thank you, Sue Thomas and Deanne Bray! You are worthy of Emmys!
