To save you the hours I wasted on this show: Yes, how you guess the series will end by the first episode is exactly what happens. The publicity and first few seasons of the show had me hooked, but, to me, the last season did not make sense and was hardly enjoyable. It seems the series wasn't sure how grounded in reality it wanted to be and we see this dynamic shift as the series draws to a close. I'm just a little disappointed. If I wanted to cringe from fan-fic material, I would've saved time by reading one.
