Had waited over a month to pen down my thoughts about Madame X... As Mirwais put it, its a futuristic global album - not your everyday pop album where you can always hear on radio - which are typical though... With this new found sound infusion from many other parts of the world, Madonna presented this gift of an amazing collection of songs which are unconventional, especially when its world apart from her past deep and vast catalogue... you definitely need more than a listen to before commenting...
The more I listen to it, the more it grows on me. It's definitely the Album of The Year - for its unconventional approach, matured words and melodies and Madonna's strength where always managed to infuse different world influences into each of the songs - both her influences and her collaborators. They are made for fans and when Madonna has long been ignored by radio, Madonna's songs continue to reach her audience on their own merit and strength. Everyday, there's something new to be discovered. This album reminded me when I first heard Ray of Light... which many a times, I was having a hard time digesting this new album released in the spring of 1998. Turns out, it is now one of her best written album from her catalogue - with the new sound of electronica and forward thinking and powerfully introspective and reflective words and melodies, Ray of Light now stands with Like A Prayer, Confessions on A Dance Floor and Madame X as her finest and most bold records that has ever been made!
A big up to M and her team for this outstanding global album. Well deserved for future recognition in terms of awards, sales and great reviews and influences.
