The movie lacked everything. From dialogues to acting. Did they really think that the use of 2-3 Sanskrit or pure Hindi words in some dialogues would help? The Man was a Decorated King and this movie in no way justified the same.
The lack of commitment to understand the character at the hands of the actors, directors and screen writers goes a long way in showing the lethargic approach in studying the history associated with Him.
Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan was not known for his love affairs, he was known for his warrior spirit and unfortunately that was never portrayed in the film. It saddens me to see the producers and directors being hung and stuck to actors, who in their opinion will draw audience rather than focusing on the story line. It is a biography that you intend the show the world not a film meant for entertainment purposes. The movie was suppose to cast light on His triumphs, unfortunately it failed to do so.
We have seen periodic dramas in the past and we have seen several actors delivering the same, to a point that to start to love or hate the character. The focus should have been on the various triumphs and not on the cheesiness that this movie sought to place.
I soo hope that someday someone actually takes some efforts in reading about this King and putting forth his actual life story so that the generations to come could actually understand why He was Called SAMRAT PRITHVIRAJ CHAUHAN.
And a note, Akshay Kumar can deliver some scripts but not all and this is a perfect example of what he shouldnโt be a part of. The man looks at a script as a business and works within a time frame. This movie required efforts and the lackadaisical approach just shows the pitiful efforts taken by everyone.
