This is the first game I've been this excited while playing for a really long time. There's something so refreshing about a game that trusts that as an adult I can figure things out myself without hints, markers, over crowded UIs etc. My character isn't constantly mumbling to themselves to get me to follow some hint or another. The combat is great, you have think about what you're doing because if you just rush in you're not going to get anywhere. The different combos of weapons, spells, items and enhancements make for a wide variety of possible choices when it comes to fighting. It's nice to play a game where the developer has put the power to explore the world and learn the secrets of it in the players hands. They're not afraid to let you miss something, and you have to put some effort into it to find out about and understand the story. It's a refreshing difference to the way other games funnel you through the story with cutscenes and so on.
