Mixed feelings.
Wasnโt the best movie in a world but still enjoyable. As a horror movie it would get a 1 star, but as for plot I would say itโs pretty good. The reason why so many people love FNAF is because of the intensity of horror, the games make you constantly on the edge of your seat and you cant relax even for a moment! The movie was not like that at all, the first nights mike was at Freddyโs he didnโt even have to try to survive. None of the animatronics were trying to murder him, which compared to the games doesnโt make any sense-the animatronics are supposed to try to kill any adult (because they want to kill William Afton). The fact that both Vanessa and Mike were just walking around freely the first couple nights didnโt make any sense. Obviously it made sense they didnโt kill Abby and listened to what Abby said about Mike and Vanessa.
Obviously itโs very far from the games plot-and I think if I didnโt know the games lore I would have enjoyed it more, but I think the movie itself wasnโt that well made either. For example the pacing, the beginning went so fast, then in the middle it went kinda slow, and it speed up again towards the ending.
They also never really tied up any loose ends, for example the aunt. They never mentioned her again after she died. and she died right in mikes house! How did he manage to keep custody after that? Especially after he was constantly on the edge of losing custody of Abby.
One thing I did love was the parts that were true to the game-like the spring trap scene was absolutely amazing and I think the people who didnโt know the original lore would think that scene is good too. The ending was really good, it kept you on the edge of your seat just like the games did. There wasnโt many horror scenes to it, but the parts that were scary were really good. They mentioned in the interview how scary it would be, and since itโs not thatโs why many people are mad.
People have mixed opinions on the fort scene, I think it was important to show that the kids in the animatronics were still just children and wanted to have fun, but in all honesty I donโt think it was necessary. I think it would have a great scene if they showed it as the after credits-considering Abby and Mike said they would go back and visit some time. Itโs a cute scene, but it doesnโt fit the horror aspect of the movie. I think people would have liked it more if it was the after credits (considering there was nothing after the credits) because itโs obvious a lot of people didnโt understand the significance of it. I kinda just thought it took up time in the movie.
Well I kinda expected more, at the end I said it was great just because it only got good towards the end. But looking back at the whole movie it wasnโt all that good
